Why Do The Liberals Rage?
Liberal Impotence Comes Out As Anger
Liberal impotence is coming out as anger. In some ways, it’s funny, purple-haired crones, their wrinkled visages pinch with rage whenever the president speaks. Clusters of ancient hippies sporting Che Guevara t-shirts sing off-key to a lone guitar. Weak chants of “we will win . . . .” trailing off into irrelevance. James Carville, reptilian Democratic strategist from the Clinton years, came up with this doozy in response to the liberal helplessness in the face of the Trump juggernaut . . . “play dead.” Even the anger is feeble unless you’re Teresa Borrenpohl.
Let’s take a hard look at precisely what the Democratic principles are now:
- Men can beat women up as long as it’s in sports
- Babies can be sacrificed at will
- War is beneficial
- Poisoning the air and food is for our good
- Big Pharma is our friend
No wonder they’re mad. If you don’t have one sound idea, your fallback plan to retain power is disruption. That’s it. It’s all they’ve got. I’d dismiss it, except the plan to destroy Republican town halls is working, as evidenced by the national coverage of the recent Kootenai County Republican event. It was positively cringetastic, the way Borrenpohl bleated about her rights while obliterating the rights of 500 others to hear and be heard.
To my ear, it was a set-up, and just like a guy in a girls volleyball tournament, she spiked that ball right into the cranium of the body politic. It was simple destruction but brilliantly executed. I’ve seen clips of Teresa excreting her influence at meetings before, but she’s outdone herself now and blown, what normally comes out of the bottom of a bat, right into the faces of local Republicans.
I recently read a letter by Dan Gookin extolling his friendship with this creature, and I flinched. I can hear my buddies now: “You share a friend with that woman?”
Something Beneficial About the Unhinged Left
Yet I must say there is something beneficial about the unhinged left, you can see them coming. We have a much more insidious enemy to Conservatism now, and it’s Coeur d’Alene royalty known as the North Idaho Republicans. They pose as the voice of reason, as an alternative to the lanky lightning rod, Brent Regan. They say the right things, they know the right people but they can’t have total control until Brent is vanquished. We know the dirty tricks they played last election cycle, with the help of Sheriff Bob Norris, to take over 30 Precinct Committee positions. I could not comprehend why the Central Committee responded with a shrug and continued bolstering of the Sheriff, it was Stockholm Syndrome at it’s most bizarre.
Norris was accused of collaborating on a campaign flyer distributed by the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Association FOP, a political action committee that has endorsed Norris in the last two elections. A video of Sheriff Bob Norris denying KCSO’s or any personal collaboration on the flyer which used the official KCSO badge on the FOP flyer endorsing NIR candidates can be seen here.
The odd marriage between what I call the “Bat guano” crazies and the well-placed, ‘respected’ NIR is what was evident at the recently detonated Republican town hall. The elites called for action and by some accounts, were in the parking lot, providing structure, then let slip the dogs of war. So while some rage and our eyes turn to them, others plot, and those are the more dangerous. I heard it said once that when lions hunt, the old toothless males will roar, and frightened prey will run from that sound, straight into the claws of the hunting females. The plains of the Serenghetti come to Kootenai County.
The In-Grown Toenail Approach of the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee
To a certain extent, it makes the in-grown toenail approach of the Central Committee understandable. They know they’re under attack from every angle, so they close ranks and demand fealty, but they have done so with the enemy ensconced inside. Loyalty to the flamethrowers results in no tears shed when your house burns down.
For freedom-loving, non-conformists, there is a way forward. We must require leadership based on unyielding principles and a willingness to uphold them, but if that sounds too strenuous, we could just keep throwing poo at each other.

Linda Cook, a decades-long resident of Kootenai County, began her political activism in the pro-life movement in California. Eventually, she was named president of the California Pro-Life Council, and in that capacity, she spoke publicly, managed media relations, and lobbied in Sacramento and Washington D.C. After moving to Kootenai County in 1992, Linda became involved in politics and was hired to serve as a Regional Representative for Congressman Helen Chenoweth-Hage. Linda is married, a mother of two, a grandmother of five, and soon to be a great- grandmother.
One of her favorite sayings is: The female of any species is always at her most dangerous when she appears to be in retreat.
