Over the years (in Kootenai County) we have been attacked not by Democrats or people who oppose our conservative views. We have been attacked by other republicans. We have been attacked by Christians. The most vicious attacks, lies and gossip have come from some local Christians.

Watchmen Ministry Initially Met With Open Arms By Church Leaders

Watchmen Ministry North Idaho combines faith and public policy and serves to educate, equip, engage, and encourage the church to stand for righteousness in the public square. As part of this mission, they seek to educate Kootenai County voters from a Biblical and Christ centered worldview. The Watchmen Ministry accomplishes this by routinely distributing informative legislative briefings, hosting special events to address specific topics and issues, and producing and distributing voter guides during each election cycle. These non-Partisan voter guides feature the answers to a survey that each candidate receives. The survey questions are identical based on the specific office being sought. Watchmen Ministry also moderates and produces video interviews with each candidate (who chooses to respond to their invitation) which are then published to their website for voters to review.

As Watchmen Ministry Gained Momentum Local Conservative Leaders Began To Attack

As Watchmen Ministry established themselves here in North Idaho, they were initially met with open arms by local church leaders and some Central Committee members. However, after a series of publicly hosted events, they began to get some push-back from local church leadership and members of the KCRCC.

After much consideration, Watchmen recently released the following statement that has been met with controversy. Here is just a part of what they’ve shared:

Over the years we have been attacked not by Democrats or people who oppose our conservative views. We have been attacked by other republicans. We have been attacked by Christians. The most vicious attacks, lies and gossip have come from some local Christians. Hard to believe but it’s true. A very outspoken local Christian woman has continued to lie and spread misinformation because we would not allow her to be part of our ministry. Her behavior somehow justified under the cloak of Christianity conveniently forgetting to do justly. A local pastor has resorted to gossip about us and our ministry because we would not cave in to his demands. Yes, you heard that right. A well-known pastor in the area. How can a man who stands before his congregation as a godly man justify his behavior to attack us? He can’t. But he has continued to attack us with lies and exaggerations over the last 3 years.
